About Mangoes
Mangoes are native to the northeast of India and are near and dear to the heart of every Indian. The sweet, creamy, compact Alphonso is the most prized variety of mango, nicknamed “the king of mangoes.”
There are many other popular varieties grown in India. From the sweet, fiber-free Kesar, to Pyree which is juicy and tart, perfect for mango ras. Tata Puri is large, tart and firm, and tastes great with chili and salt.
