Dhana Jeeru

Dhana Jeeru is a spice blend of toasted cumin and coriander. You can purchase it from an Indian grocery store, but it is simple and tastier to make dhana jiru yourself. In Hindi it would be called "dhana jeera." Dhana jiru is found in many Gujarati dishes, especially shaaks and dal. You can use coriander and cumin for these recipes, but it can be a great time saver to make dhana jeera in a large batch ahead of time so that you can always have it handy.
