Apple
Apples are a ubiquitous fruit found throughout the world. They originated in Kazakhstan and spread throughout the world, mostly along the silk route.
However, India was did not wholeheartedly embrace apples. When I was growing up in India, we could find apples, but they weren’t an everyday fruit.
One thing my mom did was make a kind of apple cereal, by adding milk, sugar and cut up pieces of apples without the skin. Apple is often used as a flavoring for jalebi, although that is more of a modern idea.
