Spicy Vaghar

A spicier version of the simple vaghar, adds chilies

  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 1 green chilies (1-2 chilies)
  • 2 cups cooked potatoes or other vegetable, chopped


  • Heat the oil in a pan over medium-high heat
  • Add cumin and mustard seeds
  • Allow to fry until they begin to brown and aroma becomes strong
  • Add turmeric and allow to cook for a few seconds. Then add chilies and allow to cook a little more.
  • Mix in cooked potatoes or other vegetables, allowing them to cook a little bit so the flavors get integrated.
