Chai Liqueur
This chai-flavored liqueur is like a chai-spiced tea version of Kahlua. It has the spicy notes and warmth of a chai with the boozy kick of a liqueur. It makes for a good Chai White Russian.

- 500 mL vodka 2 1/4 cups
- 200 g sugar 1 cup
- ½ cup water
- 6 black tea bags 1 Tbsp loose-leaf tea
- 10 saffron strands optional
- 5 cloves
- 2 ” piece of cinnamon
- 1 ” piece of ginger sliced
- 12 black peppercorns
- ½ mace or a small piece of nutmeg optional
- 1 blade of lemongrass optional
Combine water, tea, and lemongrass. Bring to a boil. Turn off the heat. Add the chai masala. Let steep for 4 minutes.
Strain through a coffee filter.
Add sugar. Stir to dissolve.
Add vodka and stir well.
